Medical Practitioners, Social Workers and Carers
Carers, medical practitioners, social workers and others visiting clients living in parking restricted areas, can apply for a Medical/Carer Dispensation to Park permit. This will enable them to park in residents' parking bays while carrying out professional visits to clients.
These permits are name and vehicle specific, valid for a maximum period of one year, and free of charge.
The permit cannot be used when public parking facilities are available within a reasonable distance of the client’s home. It does not exempt the holder from paying charges in the council's pay and display car parks.
Builders and Tradesmen
Trades people undertaking work to properties situated in a parking restricted area, can apply for a Worker's Dispensation to allow them to park nearby.
The parking control team require three days' notice to carry out a safety assessment of the location and, if this successful, issue the dispensation. Dispensations are issued at a charge of £15 per vehicle.
