Supplementary Planning Documents (SPDs)

The borough council has a number of Supplementary Planning Documents (SPDs). This includes the following:

The SPDs have been adopted by the borough council and are material considerations in the determination of planning applications. In preparing each SPD, consultation at the following statutory stages has been undertaken:

  • Issues and Options consultation
  • Draft SPD
  • Final SPD

The SPDs were primarily prepared to provide additional guidance to policies in the 1996-2011 Local Plan. in light of a new Local Plan (2011-2029) being adopted in May 2016 the SPDs are currently being reviewed.

The Council has more recently adopted the Manydown Development Brief Supplementary Planning Document (in December 2016). This document was prepared to guide future development on Manydown, as allocated through Policy SS3.10 of the Local Plan (2011-2029).

Planning Policy Guidance

In addition to the SPDs, the borough council also has a range of Planning Policy Guidance which cover topics such as Action Plans, Adopted Development Briefs, Historic Environment Guidance, Landscape and Rural Guidance, Marketing Guidance Notes, Parking Standards, Planning Policy Guidance and Village Design Statements.
