As part of the Environmental Renewal Scheme (ERS), we aim to enhance communal areas and open spaces within the local neighbourhood around Chopin Road and Stanford Road at Brighton Hill.
We consulted with residents in August and September to seek views on the areas, so that we can focus on the issues that matter the most when we finalise our programme of improvement works. Thank you to those who responded.
Having reviewed the comments, we are now planning to deliver the following works in the 2024/2025 financial year:
Residents who might be affected with these works will receive notification letters separately in due course, together with the detailed plans.
We are also reviewing the design of the public square next to Quilter Road / Brighton Way junction, with works likely to be implemented in the 2025/2026 financial year.
We acknowledge the requests on vegetation cutting in the area. These have been passed onto our Ground Maintenance and Make A Difference teams, who are responsible for the regular maintenance and upkeeping of the area.
Comments were also received in relation to parking, footpaths, pavements, road safety, trees and other issues. Whilst we understand the needs for improvements in these areas, the affected areas are generally on Hampshire County Council (HCC) land rather than our land. We have forwarded these comments to HCC for action. We apologise we are not able to proceed these matters further.
