Guidance and grants

Help and guidance

Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council (BDBC) supports and encourages communities to produce community plans in both rural parishes and in urban areas.

The Connected Communities Team can help and guide you.

It is important to use this support so that you can tap into best practice and local experience to produce a robust and credible plan. A community development officer can lead you through the process.

In a parished area the process is usually started by the parish council. In urban areas resident groups can work with their local councillors and the Connected Communities Team to develop a plan.

Developing a community plan

We offer small grants to help community groups to develop a community plan for their area. These are a maximum of £250 for the initial stage and a maximum of £1000 for enabling projects identified in a community-led plan.

The closing date is noon on 30 September 2019.

Please read the Information for Applicants document before completing the Application Form. A template project plan is also available.
