Food Vouchers - April to September 2022
As part of the Governments Household Support Fund, the Local Authority has been allocated limited funding to provide food vouchers to vulnerable households. The scheme will operate until 30 September 2022, or until all funding is allocated.
To qualify for a food voucher, you must be a resident of the Borough and be in receipt of either Council Tax Support, or Pension Credit.
Households in receipt of Council Tax Support
Households who are in receipt of Council Tax Support will be eligible for a food voucher to the value of £30.
Pensioners in receipt of Pension Credit
Pensioners who are in receipt of Pension Credit will be eligible for a food voucher to the value of £65.
You do not need to apply for a voucher, we will write to eligible recipients in due course.
We are required by law to protect the public funds we administer. We may share information provided to us with other bodies responsible for auditing, administering public funds, undertaking a public function, and preventing and detecting fraud. We may also share information with other organisations in order to fulfil our duties under a public task. Where we have these arrangements, there will be a data processing agreement in place to make sure that the organisation complies with data protection law.
What if I become entitled to council tax support or I am claiming pension credit but not council tax support or housing benefit?
If you become entitled to council tax support, or housing benefit and pension credit, then subject to their being available funding, we will contact you regarding the voucher scheme.
If you are claiming pension credit but not also claiming either council tax support or housing benefit, please email email@example.com to see if you are entitled to a voucher, or telephone 01256 844844.
Additional food support and financial help with essential costs such as water and energy bills may be available to you. Please visit the Family Information and Services Hub webpage and the connect4communities webpage for details of other help available.
In addition to the voucher scheme, financial support may be available for households that rent within the private, social, and supported housing sectors. More information regarding the scheme can on the household support grant fund webpage.
