Household Support Grant Funding
Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council have been granted a proportion of Hampshire County Council’s Household Support Fund to provide short-term help to support households in the most need with food, energy and water bills and other related essentials.
The funds are limited, and the council will prioritise those households in the most need, with a proportion of the funds being ring-fenced to support households with children.
Awards are limited to a maximum of £500 per household.
This scheme runs until 30 September 2022 or until all funds have been allocated.

Who is eligible?
Support is initially aimed at households within the private, social and supported housing sectors including vulnerable low-income shared ownership households (help with their rental liability).
- Be over the age of 16;
- Live in the borough of Basingstoke and Deane;
- Be without sufficient resources to meet the immediate short-term needs of themselves or dependants.
If you are a tenant of Sovereign or VIVID Housing Association please speak to them directly about making an application as they have separately been granted some of the Household Support Funds.
What will not be awarded?
This fund cannot be used to provide mortgage support, though homeowners could still qualify for other elements of this fund such as food, energy, water, essentials linked to energy and water and wider essentials. Where a homeowner is having difficulty with their mortgage payments, they should contact their lender as soon as possible to discuss their circumstances. In addition, Basingstoke and Tadley Citizens Advice can offer advice.
