Healthcare Cash Plan

The council offers a healthcare cash plan covering day to day healthcare expenditure (up to agreed annual policy limits) such as dental and optical care, as well as other therapies such as chiropractic treatment. This is funded for all employees on an opt-in basis at the basic level of cover, which you can choose to upgrade via monthly payroll deductions from your salary. Family members such as partners can be added for an additional fee, and children can be covered free of charge.

Employee Assistance Programme

Council staff have access to a free 24/7/365 telephone employee assistance programme (EAP). The helpline offers confidential and independent support on matter such as family issues, debt, work, lifestyle addictions, relationships and legal advice.

Discounts platform

The council has partnered with the UK’s leading employee benefits provider to offer an online discounts platform. The platform includes discounts at local and national retailers and restaurants, with most vouchers and cashback redeemable online and in-store. An accompanying mobile app allows you to access great offers anywhere and at any time.

Free car parking

Free car parking adjacent to the Civic Offices, subject to a waiting list.

Arrangements with several local shops, restaurants and cafes offering discounts to council staff. You will also be eligible for a Basingstoke Rewards card further expanding this offer to offers at multiple local businesses in the vicinity of the council offices.

Occupational health service

Our Occupational Health service is provided by the Robens Centre for Occupational Health and Safety. The service operates Monday to Friday and is available to all council employees where necessary. The Robens Centre is an independent and specialist occupational health provider owned by the University of Surrey.
