News release 9965, published on 27 Sep 2021
A new opportunity to acquire a landmark development site in the heart of Basingstoke’s thriving town centre business district has been launched.
Brought forward by Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council, the site at Basing View, which has been cleared for development, is currently awaiting planning approval for a new 45,000 sq ft Grade A office development, designed to deliver high quality, energy efficient and flexible five-storey office space to meet BREEAM Excellent and EPC A standards.
This includes a double height atrium and ground floor business lounge, an adjacent three-storey car park with electric charging points and 57 cycle spaces and is located a short walk from Basingstoke train station and the town centre.
Investors interested in this development should contact Noel Lander at JLL at noel.lander@eu.jll.com.
Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Economic Development Cllr Hannah Golding said: "Thanks to our £500 million regeneration project and other major investment, Basing View has undergone a major transformation and is well placed to meet changing needs as we recover from the pandemic.
“One of our key strengths is our strategic and well-connected location so this is a prime development opportunity for a partner with a great track record and reputation to come and work with us and meet occupier demand for new and flexible high-quality office accommodation.”
Noel Lander, Director at JLL, said: “Neon represents a unique opportunity to develop a highly sustainable, accessible and inspiring statement office building designed for future ways of working in a gateway position on Basing View, Basingstoke’s thriving urban business park with the highest levels of digital connectivity.”
Basing View is a 65-acre urban business park and it has been undergoing a £500 million regeneration programme. Recent developments include the 60,000 sq ft Florence Building, let to Sovereign Housing Association and the construction of a further 45,000 sq ft Grade A office building, pre-let to Eli Lilly and Company, has recently completed. A new Village Hotel, with gym, restaurant, swimming pool and Starbucks coffee shop also opened at Basing View in early 2020.
Alongside this, significant external investment is also planned or under way at the Renaissance, Grosvenor House and Southern Cross buildings.
