Remembrance Sunday - Remember together 2019

Sunday 10 November 2019 there will be a service at the War Memorial at 11am

The Mayor, Councillor Diane Taylor, will lay a wreath at the War Memorial on behalf of the borough and following the service, led by the Mayor’s Chaplain, will take the salute, from the parade.

This year the parade routes have changed. The march will commence from the bandstand in War Memorial Park arriving at the War Memorial, 10.45am. Following the service, the parade will march through the Top of the Town to the end of London Street. There will not be a marquee.

Any members of the public, who wish to do so, may attend.

Temporary road closure

As in previous years there will be a temporary road closure order in place to allow the parade to march safely across New Street from London Road in to London Street.

The temporary road closure will take place between 11:45am and 12:15pm for approximately 15 minutes..

Your patience during this time is appreciated.

Armistice Day 2019

Monday 11 November 2019 there will be a short 15 minute service at 11am

The Mayor will also be laying a wreath on Armistice Day, 11 November 2019, at 11am at the War Memorial.

Any members of the public, who wish to do so, may attend.


There is no parking available on the civic campus, please use the town centre car parks.
