The HR team is here to support the delivery of the council plan objectives by ensuring that we have the right people, in the right job with the right skills.
We do this by offering you a wide range of services to support the organisation in delivering its priorities.
As part of our commitment to the service that we provide we have developed service level agreements that we work towards to ensure the best service for our staff. Our Service level agreements and a copy of our Business Unit plan can be found below.

- Head of HR and Organisational Development
Leads the team and provides strategic advice to the organisation on all staff management issues. Ensures that a comprehensive and professional HR service is delivered throughout the council.

Rob Crawford - Senior Payroll Officer
Responsible for payroll service to all employees and councillors, administers the salary sacrifice schemes for cars, bicycles and childcare vouchers and also maintaining the lease and pool cars.

Organisational Development and HR Administration
Organisational development is about encouraging changes in our culture, our processes, and in the way we do things. It is about making sure we have the systems, people, skills, behaviours and capacity we need so that we are as effective as possible and able to meet the challenges we face in the future, whether that be facilitating apprenticeships, allowing existing staff to undertake fully or part-funded professional qualifications, or building on the results of staff surveys - both past and present.
HR Administration are the first point of contact of the employment cycle, from recruitment queries to contract variations, holiday calculations through to leaving your job, we are here to guide you through your journey at Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council.
