National and local organisations have adapted the way in which they work so that they can continue to provide information, advice and support to help people find work while adhering to social distancing guidelines.

If you have lost your job or are working reduced hours you may be able to claim benefits. Visit the Employment and Benefit Support website for information on benefits, eligibility and how to apply.
If your income has changed or you need to self-isolate due to coronavirus, the benefits you are entitled to may have changed. To check and ensure you are getting the help you need visit the Coronavirus help page on the Entitledto website.
Looking for work
Local jobcentres are sharing information through social media. Follow JCP Hampshire on Twitter for the latest information and job vacancies.
You can also use the ‘Find a job’ online service on the GOV.UK website to find and apply for jobs.
Some new job sites have been set up to respond to labour shortages caused by the lockdown:
- Caterer website is a redeployment site for hospitality workers.
- Choose a career in care on Hampshire County Council's website provides information about working in care in Hampshire and links to local vacancies.
National Careers Service
The National Careers Service provides access to independent, impartial and professional advice on careers, skills, and the labour market and are currently offering this support remotely. They can help you to explore your career options, understand the local job market, develop your CV, search and apply for jobs and apply for online training. For furloughed workers and employers with furloughed staff, they can also offer redundancy support and additional assistance.

Training and support
RCS run a free Employment Training Programme in Basingstoke which supports people into employment, volunteering or training. These have been running from Basingstoke discovery Centre and Oakridge Hall but they are currently adapting the programme to be delivered by telephone and through online sessions. - Basingstoke College of Technology
Aspiral learning provide a range of employability and work related skills courses. It is currently offering a range of free distance learning courses covering business, education and training, and health and social care.
- M3 Job Club
The M3 job club supports business professionals who are out of work or whose role has been placed at risk of redundancy back into the workplace through a free 16 week programme. The programme is currently being delivered online.

Self-employment and start up support
- Inspiring Enterprise
Inspiring Enterprise help unemployed people into self-employment or setting up a social enterprise. They have a team of business advisers who will support participants with advice and mentoring via phone and online platforms and are welcoming any new enquiries. They are currently running ‘Self-employment: Is it for me?’ information sessions online.
