Relax…and enjoy the Summer Bands Programme

News release 10224, published on 21 Jul 2022
Eastrop Park will be the place to be for music lovers on Sunday afternoons throughout the summer as the council’s ever-popular Summer Bands Programme begins.

The programme of free concerts will kick off on Sunday 24 July and will run until Sunday 25 September with performances taking place between 3pm and 5pm at the bandstand beside Eastrop Lake.

Visitors to the park can enjoy an exciting range of musical ensembles starting with East Woodhay Silver Band followed by saxophone groups, brass bands and a concert band.

Eastrop Park is a popular town centre park which has held green flag status for 22 years. Visitors to the park come from across the borough to enjoy the wildlife, boating lake, tree trail, trim trail, children’s play area and paddling pool.

Leader of Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council Cllr Simon Bound said: “It is brilliant that the Summer Bands programme has returned to Eastrop Park.

“I would encourage residents to pack up a picnic and bring their families, a blanket and a deckchair to enjoy the facilities in this fantastic park along with a wonderful afternoon of free music.”

The full programme of performances can be found on the council’s website here: www.basingstoke.gov.uk/summerbands
