Help to shape improvements to Whiteditch Public Open Space
As part of the public open space refurbishment programme, Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council is looking at how Whiteditch Public Open Space could be improved to benefit the local community and is keen to hear people’s views.
The project will focus on providing access improvements and recreational facilities within the open space, to meet the needs of a wide range of residents and visitors. It does not include the existing play area and will not include the provision of toilets or catering facilities.
Cabinet Member for Environment and Climate Action Cllr Hayley Eachus said: “As part of our work to refurbish our public open spaces we are keen to ask users of Whiteditch Public Open Space how they feel we can improve the area. Public open space areas play an important role within communities, providing an area to meet people, exercise or simply enjoy the fresh air, it is therefore important the community tells us what they feel these improvements should be.”
People have until Sunday 18 September to give their views at www.basingstoke.gov.uk/whiteditch-consultation The responses received from the consultation will shape the final design of the facilities and work is expected to start later this year.
