The Mayor of Basingstoke and Deane Cllr Paul Miller and the Mayoress Sandra Miller will be raising awareness of homelessness this weekend, as they take part in the Julian House Big Basingstoke Sleep out. The Mayor and Mayoress will join hundreds of other people on Friday 24 March 2023 at May’s Bounty Cricket Club with just a sleeping bag, some cardboard and a torch to protect them from the cold and dark conditions.
The annual event, organised by Julian House, aims to raise awareness of and funds for those experiencing homelessness in the borough.
Cllr Miller said “The Mayoress and I hope that by taking part in the Big Basingstoke Sleep Out we can help Julian House to continue to rebuild lives and offer their support to anyone who needs it.
“It’s not too late to sign up to take part in the event, just go to the Julian House website to find out more.”
