Listen Up returns with free live music in Basingstoke
Music fans will be able to enjoy another fantastic line-up of live performances in Basingstoke town centre this month as part of a showcase of music from homegrown talent and national artists.
Following the success of the first Listen Up, the event celebrating live music will return to Basingstoke’s Top of the Town on Saturday 29 March.
Listen Up was launched in September 2024 by Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council and Love Basingstoke, in partnership with local promoters RB Music and Basingstoke Jazz and Beyond, as part of work to encourage more live music in the Top of the Town.
Audiences will be treated to an exciting mix of live performances from over 20 bands and performers, spanning genres such as rock, jazz, blues and acoustic.
Performances will start from 2pm at five Top of the Town venues – The Tea Bar, Laarsen’s, The Royal Exchange, The White Hart and Gabardine Bar.
Cabinet Member for Sports, Leisure and Culture Cllr Kerry Morrow said: “We had really great feedback from everyone who enjoyed our first Listen Up event in September.
“We want to do everything we can to boost the live music on offer in the Top of the Town, as part of our support for venues in the area, so I am pleased that we have been able to bring back Listen Up in March.
“There is a really strong line-up of homegrown talent and national musicians, so I would encourage residents and visitors to come and join us and enjoy a great afternoon and evening of live music right here in the town centre.”
More information, including updates on the line-up, is available on the website at www.LoveBasingstoke.co.uk and by following Love Basingstoke on Facebook, Instagram and X (formerly Twitter).
