Festival summer screenings selling fast

News release 8443, published on 30 Apr 2019
It’s shaping up to be a summer of superb entertainment for residents.

The 2019 Basingstoke Festival will run from Friday 21 June to Sunday 7 July and almost 1,300 tickets have already been sold for its hugely popular Pictures in the Park programme.

The screening of Bohemian Rhapsody is sold out but you can still grab a ticket to see Moulin Rouge! on Wednesday 3 July or Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again on Friday 5 July in War Memorial Park on a big screen under the stars when the light fades after 9pm each evening.

This will be a very special outdoor cinematic experience right in the heart of the town.
Don’t miss out - snap up your ticket today. Tickets priced £10 plus booking fee are available via https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/basingstokefestival.

If you prefer music to movies, why not share the B LOVE? The family-friendly B LOVE festival will take over War Memorial Park on Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 July to bring Basingstoke Festival to a close.

Headliners Sister Bliss and Toploader have already been announced, in addition to Utah Saints and SK Shlomo’s incredible Beatbox Adventure for Kids. There's lots more to come and don't forget that under 12s are free with an accompanying adult.

The rest of Basingstoke Festival 2019 promises to be a fantastic fortnight packed full of street theatre, comedy, music, art and much more. Thanks to the festival’s new partnership with Without Walls, local audiences will be able to see dip, a new show from trampolinist extraordinaire Max Calaf Sevé. There will also be visits from Mufti Games’ One Kid and their Dog and The Virtual Orchestra, lots of 1980s nostalgia and the return of the hugely popular Dance Flashmob.

Arts and Events Manager at Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council Ross Harvie said: “We are really excited about this year’s festival and the line-up for B LOVE - there is so much in store!

“Over the next few months we’ll be revealing the names of more acts who’ll be coming to the town to perform. The festival is able to offer a platform to local and national artists, giving talented Basingstoke-born performers a unique opportunity to showcase their work alongside well-known artists.

“Our mix of music, art, theatre, family entertainment and much more will ensure that there really is something for everyone to enjoy at Basingstoke Festival.”
