Have your say on polling station review

News release 8509, published on 09 Jul 2019
Residents in the borough are being asked to give their views on where they currently vote as part of a review of polling stations and polling districts being carried out by Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council.

As part of a compulsory review, the council has put forward changes to some of the polling stations in some areas and is asking residents to have their say on these.

The Acting Returning Officer Melbourne Barrett said: “This review is a chance for the council to look at the existing arrangements and make changes where perhaps the venues no longer meet the needs of voters in the area.

“We welcome the views of all residents, particularly those with any type of disability, on the proposals or any other related matters. It is important the venues are accessible to ensure everyone has the opportunity to vote in person should they wish to.”

The consultation will run until Friday 9 August 2019, you can have your say or find out more information at  or call 01256 845467.
