Help shape improvements to Popley Community Park
Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council is set to make £400,000 worth of improvements to the park in Popley Way thanks to funding from developers’ contributions.
The community park was first developed around 10 years ago. The additional funding provides an exciting opportunity to upgrade the facilities again and people are being asked to give their views on what new play equipment they’d like to see in the park and what features could be improved.
The responses received from the consultation will help shape the final design and work is expected to start on site early 2020.
Cabinet Member for Planning, Infrastructure and Natural Environment Cllr Mark Ruffell said: “Popley Community Park is a great neighbourhood facility and this funding is a fantastic opportunity to expand the play facilities and make further improvements. It’s really important that local people help to shape these improvements to ensure it continues to be a well-used and much loved local park.”
