Have your say on improvements to Beggarwood Park
Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council is asking residents and users of the popular neighbourhood facility and Local Nature Reserve for views on how to improve the existing play facilities, recreational facilities and landscaping.
The council has put forward some ideas for people to comment on and is keen to understand what is important to users of the open space and what else is needed.
The improvements have been made possible thanks to £258,000 of funding from developers’ contributions.
The responses received from the consultation will shape the final design of the facilities and work is expected to start on site early 2020.
Cabinet Member for Planning, Infrastructure and Natural Environment Cllr Mark Ruffell said: “Beggarwood Park is a popular open space and a Local Nature Reserve providing users with an opportunity to play and explore. This funding helps to make the most of this open space, improving the play equipment and developing activities that incorporate the natural environment. I encourage people to give their views on what they would like to see in the park to ensure we develop facilities that are shaped by the local community for the local community.”
