News release 9587, published on 27 Nov 2019
Come along to a family-friendly carol service for a chance to meet the Mayor of Basingstoke and Deane Cllr Diane Taylor on Sunday 8 December.

The Mayor and her Consort Dr Andy Taylor will welcome local people to the free seasonal event at St Michael’s Church in Church Square, at 7pm.

Christmas music will include popular carols and performances from the Basingstoke Festival of Choirs and Hatch Warren Infant School Choir.

The service will be led by the Mayor's Chaplain, Dr Andy Taylor and the Mayor will give her Christmas message.

Members of the congregation will be invited to join the Mayor and Dr Taylor for festive refreshments after the service.

The collection will go towards the Mayor’s Charity Appeal which is raising money for three local charities - HeartSmart, Real Change Not Loose Change and Besom in Basingstoke.

Cllr Taylor said: “The annual carol service is a joyous community event filled with festive music and Christmas cheer. I hope to welcome local people of all ages to join me for this special event.

“All proceeds will be going to my charity appeal which will give support to three very essential local causes during the festive season.”
