Council reception to temporarily close
The decision has been taken to protect residents and staff following the latest government advice around the COVID-19 outbreak.
As a result of the closure, no face-to-face appointments will be carried out but residents can still request appointments to be carried out via telephone.
Residents and businesses can still get the latest news, updates and access a number of council services by visiting www.basingstoke.gov.uk, signing up for email updates at www.basingstoke.gov.uk/signup , contacting the council by email at email@example.com, through Facebook and Twitter @BasingstokeGov or by calling 01256 844844.
Cabinet Member for Environment and Enforcement, and responsible for customer services, Cllr Hayley Eachus said: “Following the latest guidance from government, we have taken the difficult decision to help protect our residents and staff by closing our reception.
“We are committed to keeping disruption to our services to a minimum for our residents during this time and we will be closely monitoring the number of calls we are receiving. As the situation continues to change, we will keep decisions under review.
“Residents can keep up-to-date on our services on our website which will be regularly updated, follow our Twitter and Facebook pages and can contact us by email or telephone. I would like to thank residents for their patience at this time.”
