Football development

The council has targeted significant funds to improve the standard of football facilities locally and works with partners to support the development of the game.

The Health and Wellbeing Team works closely with Hampshire Football Association (based in Winklebury) to support club, coach and facility development.

Peter Houseman Youth League is the main youth league which operates locally. The Basingstoke and District Football League runs Saturday and Sunday leagues for men. Women's teams play in county or regional leagues.

Football Course Bursary Scheme

The Football Course Bursary Scheme is no longer in existence. Although not currently open, the council still hopes to operate the more generic Coaching Bursary Scheme going forward. This scheme assists those looking to achieve a level one qualification or equivalent. For more information on the Coaching Bursary Scheme visit our courses, seminars and accreditation webpage.

Energise Coaches also offer funding towards level 2 (or above) coaching courses. Find out more information on funding for coaches, volunteers and officials on the Energise me website.
