Safer Food Better Business (SFBB)
All food businesses must have a fully documented food safety management system. This means that you will have to decide what it is that you do to produce food that is safe, and have this written down. The system will have to be based on Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point principles, and businesses will be expected to follow it.
Whilst larger businesses will have these systems in place, many smaller businesses won't. The Food Standards Agency has produced Safer Food Better Business (SFBB) for small caterers.
The SFBB pack contains a series of easy to understand safe methods for cooking, chilling, cleaning, cross contamination and management. It is designed to be easily tailored to suit smaller businesses, and can be implemented in a relatively short period of time. The pack and further information is available free of charge from the Food Standards Agency website.
