COVID-19 - Following the easing of Coronavirus restrictions most market stall holders have returned to normal trading. Please continue to support the local economy by shopping at the market whilst also keeping to the government guidelines at all times.
Markets have been held in Basingstoke since the original market was established by Royal Charter in 1622.
The market is situated in Market Place at the Top of the Town and continues down Wote Street towards Festival Place. Find out the location of the market below:
General markets take place on Wednesdays and Saturdays between 9am and 4pm. Stalls currently include fruit and vegetables, butcher. fresh fish and seafood, farm shop including eggs, pies, chutney, artisan bakery including a vast selection of bread, ciabatta, cakes, savouries, pet food, biltong, Retro clothing, cosmetics, perfumery, crepes, waffles silk flower arrangements, Thai food, Indian food and Caribbean food.
In addition to the traditional Wednesday and Saturday markets, there is an annual events programme at the Top of the Town which has been designed to bring vibrancy and colour to the area.
The annual events programme is currently under review and it is hoped that events can be held in the area in due course. Please keep reviewing the website for updates to the programme.
