These restrictions are also having an impact on the annual event programme, held within the area. Please ensure that you keep to the government guidelines when visiting the market by keeping a safe distance, washing hands and wearing a face mask where possible. Hand sanitiser is provided by the market management team for the public to use.
Markets have been held in Basingstoke since the original market was established by Royal Charter in 1622.
The market is situated in Market Place at the Top of the Town and continues down Wote Street towards Festival Place. Find out the location of the market below:
General markets take place on Wednesdays and Saturdays between 9am and 4pm. Stalls currently include fruit and vegetables, meat, eggs, pies and chutney, bread, cakes, fresh fish, Thai, Korean and Japanese food, burgers, plants, ladieswear, menswear, pet food, smoking accessories and e-cigarettes, and mobile phone accessories.
In addition to the traditional Wednesday and Saturday markets, there is an annual events programme at the Top of the Town which has been designed to bring vibrancy and colour to the area.
Due to Coronavirus, events normally held in the area are limited/cancelled. However, please keep reviewing the website for updates on the programme.
