Following the consultation on the draft Local Plan Update (Regulation 18) that took place last year and the Government’s recent publication of a new National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF), Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council is issuing a call for sites for developers, landowners or other interested parties to identify sites considered to be suitable for future development.
The call for sites closes on Monday 17 February 2025.
The council published a draft Local Plan in early 2024 which included a proposed spatial strategy and a number of allocations for housing and employment to meet needs up to at least 2040. The recently published new NPPF requires the delivery of more new homes, with supporting infrastructure, over coming years. This call for sites will enable the council to have an up-to-date understanding of any available land in the borough which may be suitable for development. Submissions involving brownfield land are particularly encouraged.
Submitted information will be used to inform next stage of the Local Plan Update in addition to future neighbourhood plans.
If you have, or know of any, available and suitable land or sites that you would like to be considered through the Local Plan Update process, please read the guidance note and submit details using the Site submission form below. All submissions must be accompanied by a location map and meet the other requirements that are stated on the form. Please use a separate form for each site you wish to submit.
All completed forms should be submitted by 5pm on Monday 17 February 2025. Please return the completed form by:
Email: local.plan@basingstoke.gov.uk
Post: Planning Policy Team, Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council, Civic Offices, London Road, Basingstoke RG21 4AH
Please note that information submitted, with the exception of personal details, will be within the public domain.
It’s important to note that putting a site forward does not guarantee that the council will allocate or support its development in the future. The suitability of all sites will need to be judged against relevant planning policies and other considerations.
