Mayor's Civic Sunday Service 2023
It is tradition in Basingstoke and Deane to hold an annual Civic Sunday Service for residents, councillors and other dignitaries to welcome the town’s new Mayor at the start of their year.
This year the Civic Sunday Service coincides with His Majesty King Charles III’s Coronation year, making the service an extremely special occasion. Aligning with His Majesty King Charles III’s theme, the service will focus on the importance of community volunteering. The Mayor and Mayoress have a long history of volunteering and have seen first-hand the benefits it can bring to the individual, the charity and the community.
The Mayor’s Chaplain, Reverend Steve McKay will take the service with The Salvation Army Basingstoke Songsters, St Michael’s Church Choir and Tadley Singers leading the singing of hymns.
