Ensure you have referred to the Community Right to Bid (basingstoke.gov.uk) pages and The Assets of Community Value (England Regulations 2012 Legislation prior to making your nomination.
Submit as much detail as possible about the building or land being nominated as an Asset of Community Value and about your organisation. Insufficient information could delay the nomination process.
All supporting information should be emailed to communityassets@basingstoke.gov.uk after you have submitted your nomination.
Community nominations may be made at any time, including after an asset has been put onto the property market. However, no restrictions on sale arise from a nomination - it is only listing which brings the statutory control over sale (the Community Right to Bid).
The council will make a decision within eight weeks of receiving a complete nomination.

Please send a plan with boundaries shown in red to communityassets@basingstoke.gov.uk after submitting your application. Where available, this should be a recent copy of the Land Registry Summary and/or Title Plan.

** Must either be a charity; community interest company; a company limited by guarantee that is not profit distributing; an industrial and provident society that is non-profit distributing. An unincorporated organisation must provide evidence that it has at least 21 individual members and does not distribute any surplus made to its members.
Nominations should be formally endorsed by the executive/decision-making body/committee of your organisation. Please send a copy of the relevant minutes to communityassets@basingstoke.gov.uk. These should be from a recent meeting.
