Corporate conservation volunteering

If you are part of an organisation in the borough that is looking to fulfil its corporate social responsibility goals, then you could consider taking part in one of our free corporate nature volunteering days.

During the day, your staff will undertake practical conservation work in one of our green spaces in the borough. The efforts will help to improve the site for wildlife and local residents while providing great team bonding opportunities outside the usual office environment.

Typical activities for your corporate volunteering day include:

  • using hand tools to clear scrub (small trees) off meadow areas
  • coppicing and thinning woodlands
  • clearing out and opening up watercourses
  • other hands-on practical conservation tasks
Corporate volunteering

The main window for conservation work runs from September through to February. That is so most of the scrub and woodland management work takes place outside of bird nesting season. Some work may be undertaken in March but only when surveys have proven there will be no disturbance to nesting.
