Diversity and Inclusion - Islam Jalaita
Islam’s role involves making contact with individuals, groups, and organisations from
diverse communities in the borough, providing support and understanding in relation
to the challenges different communities face. He also support Basingstoke Multiagency Diversity Forum and support a range of community groups and representatives forums such as Basingstoke Black and Minority Ethnic, Disability, Over 55s, Interfaith, LGBT Forums and Basingstoke Access 4 All Working Group to respond to accessible requirements and the needs of diverse communities.

Equality Advisor and Support Service
The Equality Advisory and Support Service is a free helpline able to advise individuals who may have faced an incident of discrimination. Advisors and support people to find an informal resolution to their complaint of discrimination. The helpline also provides general advice and guidance on human rights issues. Complaint procedure for racial attack or harassment
Racist crime/harassment is any incident where the victim or any other person believes that the perpetrator had a racial motive. It can take many forms:
- Racist Abuse (threat or insults), which can be verbal or written.
- Racially abusive behaviour.
- Causing damage to property.
- Circulating or displaying racist material.
- Offensive graffiti.
- Any physical violence.
