Take part in Basingstoke Green Week

Organised by communities with our support, Basingstoke Green Week is an annual celebration of local action to tackle climate change and protect nature.

Events and activities take place throughout the week for people of all ages to enjoy. To find out more, including when it takes place and how you can get involved, go to our Green Week webpage.

Volunteer in a local climate change or nature conservation group

Community groups and organisations across the borough are bringing together local people to take action to tackle the climate emergency and help encourage native plants and wildlife.

Come to a meeting of the Basingstoke Area Sustainability group

The Basingstoke Area Sustainability group is a regular gathering where local people with an interest in sustainability can learn more about climate change as well as exchange ideas, discuss initiatives and talk about best practice for how communities can take action to tackle it.

Meetings are free to attend, take place approximately once every two months and are open to all interested individuals, groups, organisations and local county, borough and town and parish councillors. The group is supported by the borough council.

Network with other businesses taking action to become more sustainable

Businesses that want to reduce their carbon emissions and become more sustainable can network with like-minded organisations by becoming a member of the Sustainable Business Network.

Benefits include opportunities to learn and share best practice, invitations to networking events and monthly email updates with the latest sustainability news, case studies, funding opportunities and award schemes.
