Housing and Homelessness Strategy 2023 to 2027

Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council’s Housing and Homelessness Strategy sets out our main priorities and actions and seeks to build on the success of previous strategies. Part of this includes a plan to prevent homelessness (a homelessness strategy) that we have to have by law.

The updated strategy was approved at Council in October 2023. The Housing and Homelessness Strategy sets key actions for the next four years to speed up the delivery of more social rented homes, improve the quality of homes and continue innovative work to prevent homelessness and end rough sleeping.

The five priorities of the Housing and Homeless Strategy are:

  • ending rough sleeping
  • preventing homelessness
  • affordable housing supply, quality and standards
  • regeneration and place
  • tackling climate change

The council produces an annual monitoring report to monitor progress against the adopted Strategy. The monitoring report for 2023/24 can be viewed below.
