Preferred Partners Scheme

We have implemented a preferred partners scheme as committed to within its Housing and Homelessness Strategy 2023-2027, in order to build and improve relations with Registered Providers (RPs) and drive up social housing standards within the borough.

In Summer 2025 we invited local RPs to apply for the scheme. Applications received are currently being reviewed and successful RPs will be notified shortly.

How to apply

If you are a registered provider with an interest in the Basingstoke and Deane area and are considering applying for the scheme then please contact the Strategic Housing Association Liaison Lead, Rachel Wilson, rachel.wilson@basingstoke.gov.uk.

The self-declaration form covers the following areas:

• customer accessibility and engagement
• housing and estate management
• homelessness prevention
• support for vulnerable tenants
• new affordable housing development
• low cost home ownership
• domestic abuse
• sustainability and climate change
• social value

All providers who join the scheme will be expected to adhere to an agreed Memorandum of Understanding, a copy of which can be obtained from the Strategic Housing Team. Reviews with preferred partners will take place on a frequent basis to ensure compliance with the scheme.
