Procurement

Procurement is about making choices in the acquisition of goods, works and services from suppliers. These web pages are designed to help you to do business with the council. There are three elements:

Procurement and Contract Management Strategy
A clear framework for procurement and contract management across the council

A Selling Guide
Explaining the rules we have to abide by, our procedures, and letting you know how you can compete for our business. It also provides information on how the new Procurement Act 2023 will change the way in which public procurement is carried out, and what it means for you when bidding for council contracts.

E-Procurement
Explaining how you can do business with us electronically

Local Government Transparency Code

To promote openness and transparency, the UK government recommends that local authorities publish specific key datasets. These are listed in the Department for Communities and Local Government's (DCLG) Local Government Transparency Code, which can be found by visiting the GOV.UK website

Safeguarding

We have a duty to safeguard children, young adults and vulnerable adults. This duty extends to external providers that have been contracted by the council to carry out specific functions on our behalf. Safeguarding guidance for external providers is available on our Tender resource pack page.
