Due to the growing number of people attending the services each year and in line with Health and Safety requirements, we require everyone who wishes to take part in the parade or to lay a wreath to register by completing the joining form(s).

Before completing the form(s) please familiarise yourself with council's Safeguarding Policy.

If planning to attend Armistice Day and Remembrance Sunday both forms must be completed.

If you wish to attend as a veteran, on behalf of school or an association but with no more than 3 people, please complete the form below:

Any other persons who wish to observe only should make their way to either top section of the Civic Offices courtyard near Deanes Building, War Memorial Park or roadside Eastlands Car Park.

Remembrance Sunday

On Sunday 9 November 2025 at 11am the Mayor of Basingstoke and Deane Cllr Colin Phillimore will lay a wreath at the War Memorial on behalf of the borough.

The event will begin with a parade from Market Place, through the top of the town to the War Memorial, Civic Offices, Basingstoke.

A soldier silhouette is in the grass outside the Goldings building, near the War Memorial, where people can place their own poppy crosses in remembrance of relatives or friends. These will be available on the day.

Following the service, the Deputy Lord Lieutenant and Mayor will take the salute in London Street, as the parade returns to the top of the town back to Market Place, where all will be dismissed.

Temporary road closure For the safety of the parade and attendees, a temporary road closure will be put in place outside the Civic Offices during the morning and the traffic will also be stopped in New Road at 11am for the two minutes’ silence.

Filming and photography will take place.

Armistice Day

There will be a two minutes’ silence at the War Memorial on Tuesday 11 November 2025 at 11am. The Mayor will lay a wreath as part of a short 15-minute ceremony.

11:04 Padre Charles Lewis to invite Mayor then others to lay wreaths

11:15 At conclusion of ceremony Mayoral Party, led by Macebearer, will proceed from the War Memorial into Deane’s building
