The role of the Inclusion and Diversity Officer

Our Inclusion and Diversity Officer is a focal point for access issues throughout the borough. Their role is to raise awareness of accessibility issues by:

  • Working with local groups including the Disability Forum for Basingstoke and District to develop new ways to improve access.
  • Supporting the Access 4 All Working Group to give advice and guidance on improving access to buildings and services.

Disability Forum

The Disability Forum is an organisation of and for disabled people. It provides a forum:

  • to share concerns
  • to assess existing services
  • to plan new services
  • to ensure that disabled people have a voice in decisions that affect them.

If you have a personal interest in disability because you are disabled, you are a carer or have a professional interest, the Disability Forum would be happy to welcome you to the group.
