We are committed to planting trees in appropriate locations throughout the borough. Smaller trees are planted in locations where tall trees are not appropriate like housing estates, and larger trees in areas like our parklands.
Each newly planted tree will have a poster attached to it.
Trees play a key role in contributing to the temperature regulation of residential areas. Strategic placement of trees can reduce heat and cool the air by between 2 ºC and 8 ºC.
Planting will also absorb CO₂ from the atmosphere and help to offset the effect of climate change helping the borough work towards our target of net zero carbon by 2045.
Added to this are the biodiversity and landscape benefits of trees which will make our borough an even more pleasant place to reside in future.
