One of the ways we work towards making services accessible is by using Equality Impact Assessments (EIAs). These are carried out on new or changed services, strategies and policies where relevant.
The aim of EIAs is to:
If a potentially negative impact of a proposed action is identified in an EIA, ways in which to deal with it are considered, prior to a decision being taken on the proposed change or new service.
EIAs help us to meet our Public Sector Equality Duty, under the Equality Act 2010. Find out more information on our Public Sector Equality Duty page.
The council has carried out a number of EIAs, the full EIAs are shown below. Validated by the council's Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Strategy Group.
