The application by Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council and Hampshire County Council to the High Court for a final injunction against the setting up of unauthorised encampments within the urbanised area of Basingstoke town, as well as the outlying areas of Bramley, Silchester, Tadley Common and a small parcel of land at Stratfield Turgis was granted on Thursday 4 April 2019. The injunction includes provision for powers of arrest and will be in place for a period of five years.
An interim injunction was granted on 30 July 2018 to prevent unauthorised encampments in a 26 square mile area of Basingstoke.
