On 26 May 2016, Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council adopted the Local Plan 2011-2029. The adopted Local Plan forms part of the statutory development plan for the borough, sets out the Council’s vision and strategy for the area until 2029 and will provide the basis for decisions on planning applications.
The council received the Inspector’s report on the Local Plan on 6 April 2016. This report outlines the findings of the Inspector, Mr Mike Fox on his examination of the Local Plan and concludes that, subject to a number of main modifications, the plan is ‘sound’ and capable of adoption in order to guide future development in the borough up to 2029.
A copy of the Inspector’s Report is available to download below and a schedule of main modifications that were made to the Plan prior to adoption. Copies of these documents are also available to view in the council offices and local libraries.
The Local Plan was submitted for examination on the 9 October 2014. View a complete set of the examination documents, including those published after submission.
