Play area refurbishment programme

A review of play areas across the borough resulted in capital funding being allocated to a programme of play area refurbishments. Play areas were scored against a range of criteria in relation to their age, condition and compliance with our play standards. Those most in need of renewal scored the highest, resulting in a order of priority for the play area refurbishments.

The Play area refurbishment priority list sets out the programme for delivery and is updated at regular intervals as works progress. The order of the play areas on the list might be revised, if unforeseen events increase the priority of a site, such as cases of extreme vandalism which cannot be repaired, or loss of equipment due to age and condition.
