We have to follow particular regulations when buying goods, works and services to ensure fair competition, integrity and value for money. These cover how we advertise and tender.

Legislative requirements

These state that if a contract exceeds the relevant UK thresholds (works £5,372,609 (inc VAT) or services £214,904 (inc VAT)) we normally have to advertise on the Government's Find A Tender website, inviting expressions of interest to tender. There are also legislative requirements that set the timescales we have to follow. These rules aim to ensure open and non-discriminatory competition. Council contract standing orders

These regulate how we conduct our business and anyone employed by the council must conform to them. They set out the procedures for advertising, evaluating and letting contracts of different value and can be viewed on our Constitution webpage under 4.151.
