Business permits

Employees of businesses located in central Basingstoke may be eligible to apply for a business permit. This allows the holder to park in business permit designated parking places on-street (roads on the highway), or in designated parking bays off-street (in Basingstoke’s pay and display car parks).

On-street business permits

Permits are available for Chequers Road and the Fairfields area only. Apply for your permit on the Hampshire County Council website.

Apply for or renew an off-street business permit

Before applying for an off-street business permit please read our terms and conditions:

• To apply you must be over the age of 17
• If you change your vehicle you must contact the council and surrender your permit immediately. A replacement permit can be issued for your new vehicle.
• We may request proof of residence at the permit address and ownership of the vehicle as the vehicle must be registered to your Basingstoke and Deane permit address
• If you knowingly make a false statement when obtaining a parking permit you may receive a penalty charge notice. The charge is currently £70 for each penalty notice served.
• Your business parking permit will only be valid for use in the car park(s) for which the permit has been issued.

Renewals

You can renew your off-street business parking permit online if you are an existing permit holder and your vehicle registration has not changed. If your vehicle registration has changed you will not be able to renew online you will need to follow the new application process.

Apply to renew an off-street business permit

Once you have completed your renewal, it may take up to 10 working days for the permit to arrive. Please allow sufficient time between renewing your permit and the expiry of your current permit.
