Accessing social housing through the housing register

The council provides a housing register for all local housing associations acting as a focal point for new applicants and existing tenants seeking alternative accommodation.

Providing affordable housing for local people

Working in partnership with local housing associations and other partners, we assist in the development of new and improved housing services, to provide affordable housing for local families.

We work with Registered Providers, landowners, developers and other stakeholders to ensure that a range of tenures is delivered on all development sites, where it would be viable to do so to meet a range of different housing needs. The council acts as an enabler within this process. We work to improve the quality of life through investment in housing, leisure and community facilities and by providing safe communities to live in.
