What housing options are available?

There are lots of options available, but you need to find the one that suits you. Some of the options you might want to consider are:

Social housing
Social housing is let at affordable rents on a secure basis to people in housing need. It's provided by social landlord organisations, such as housing associations.

Shared ownership
With this scheme, you can buy a share of a property and pay rent to a housing association on the other share.

Mutual exchange
If you're a housing association tenant, you can swap homes with another housing association tenant.

Sheltered housing
This type of housing is for older people.

Extra care housing
Ideal for older people who need some personal care or other support, but who are still able to live independently and safely.

Private rented accommodation
Private renting offers you greater freedom to find they type home you want in the area you want to live.

Supported housing
This is for single homeless people who could benefit from support to maintain and manager their housing.

Adapted housing
If you or someone in your household has a medical condition or disability which affects your mobility, this may be the option for you.
