We are part of a greater team who can provide support should anything not run smoothly.

The council's Prevention and support team will look at:

  • setting up rent payments
  • benefits
  • budgeting
  • anti–social behaviour
  • looking after the property

Wider support

We have access to support teams who will work with tenants on a variety of issues. This includes financial issues or needing more support in general.

Call before you serve

If you notice that your tenant is struggling, not responding or not paying please get in touch with us straight away. The quicker we sort problems the better it is for everyone.

Managed payments to landlords from Universal Credit

A managed payments to landlords can be made when a claimant:

  • is in arrears with their rent for an amount equal to, or more than, two months of their rent
  • has continually underpaid their rent over more than two months, and they have accrued arrears of an amount equal to or more than one month’s rent

You will need the tenant’s date of birth, if you did a right to rent check you will have this information.
