Public electric vehicle charging points are available across the borough for use by residents and visitors.

We have installed a number of charging point in our public car parks across the borough. For information on how to use the charging points, visit the MER website. The MER app users can download the app from the Apple or Android stores.

Basingstoke charging points

Abbey Road shops

  • postcode RG24 9HQ
  • two 22kWh chargepoints with 2 ports, enabling 4 cars to charge

Buckskin Community Centre

  • postcode RG22 5BW
  • two 22kWh chargepoints with 2 ports, enabling 4 cars to charge

Churchill Way car park

Deanes courtyard

  • postcode RG21 4AH
  • one 22 kWh charger with two ports for charging two vehicles at the same time, available for visitors to the council offices only

Eastlands

  • postcode RG21 4AW
  • eight 7kWh chargers allowing 16 cars to charge at the same time
  • this car park is open to the public at the following times:
    • Monday to Friday 7pm to 8am (vehicles must be be removed by 8am)
    • all day at weekends
  • vehicles must be plugged in and charging whilst parked here

Eastrop Park

  • postcode RG21 4QE
  • two 22kWh chargepoints with 2 ports, enabling 4 cars to charge

Feathers Yard

  • postcode RG21 7AT
  • a dedicated electric vehicle charging hub in the town centre with one rapid charger (maximum stay 1 hour and no return within 1 hour) and three 22Kwh fast chargers (maximum stay 4 hours and no return within 4 hours).This car park is free for charging plug-in vehicles whilst charging and when still connected up to the maximum stay of 1 hour or 4 hours.

Hatch Warren Community Centre

  • postcode RG22 4XF
  • two 22Kwh chargers for charging up to 4 vehicles at the same time. This car park closes at 6pm weekdays and 3pm at weekends, please remove your vehicle before these times.

Parklands car park

Popley Fields Community Centre

  • one 22kWh fast charger, with type two connectors

Rucstall Community Centre

  • postcode RG21 3QN
  • one 22kWh dual charger for charging 2 vehicles at the same time

Russell Howard Park

Rooksdown Community Centre

We are taking steps to increase the amount of on-street chargers, working closely with Hampshire County Council to help shape its plans. Residents can request a charging point near to them by completing the on-street electric vehicle charger survey on Hampshire County Council’s (HCC) website.
