Car Park Charges

In all Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council town centre car parks, charges apply 24 hours a day Monday to Sunday. There is no charge payable in any of the car parks on Bank Holidays. The only exception to this is Good Friday, when normal charges apply.

Find a car park

Parking restrictions and car park charges have been suspended since Thursday 26 March in Basingstoke and Deane for all NHS workers and NHS volunteers carrying out their frontline duties during the COVID-19 outbreak.

NHS workers will be asked to display the appropriate parking pass in their vehicle to demonstrate their role to assist the council’s parking enforcement team and ensure they continue to park safely.

To apply for a permit please email parking@basingstoke.gov.uk with the following:

  • a copy of your NHS ID badge
  • your workplace details including address
  • vehicle registration number.

How to pay for your parking

You can buy a pay and display ticket on arrival by coin or debit/credit card. Alternatively, you can pay on departure using the "check-in-check-out" service. Simply register your debit/credit card at the pay and display machine when you arrive and then de-register using the same card at the machine before you depart. Your card will then be charged with the relevant parking fee for the amount of time you have been parked.

Alternatively, you can pay using your mobile phone on the RingGo system. To register, you need to provide your mobile number, car registration number and your credit or debit card details.

All it takes is to log your vehicle in at the start of your parking period, which you can extend if necessary. There's no need to find change for the machine and no need to display a ticket. The parking charge and RingGo convenience charge (where applicable) will then appear on your credit or debit card statement.

For business users and commuters from Basingstoke railway station, you can buy a Vyne Meadow Season Ticket or Business Permit. However, these are in great demand and the council holds a waiting list.

Other parking options
