ONLINE PAYMENTS - Unfortunately Capita online payments for Property Debtors Invoices, Sundry Debtor Invoices and Invoices (miscellaneous debtors) can only accept payment for invoices dated prior to 01 April 2022 currently. Any debtor invoices with an invoice number beginning with 84 can only be paid by Phone 01256 844844 during office hours, Post or by Bank Transfer at this time. In addition Property Debtor Invoices can also be paid via Direct Debit. The option to pay for invoices beginning with 84 is currently in development and will be introduced soon. Apologies for the inconvenience.

Council Tax

Sign in or register for a council tax online account

Business Rates

You will need:

  • business rate account number
  • bank name, branch and sort code
  • bank account number and name(s) on the account

You can either email your completed and signed form to rates@basingstoke.gov.uk or post it to us: Local Tax, Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council, Civic Offices, London Road, Basingstoke RG21 4AH.

You will need:

  • housing benefit overpayments invoice number
  • bank name, branch and sort code

    We accept most of the major debit and credit cards and our payments are processed by Capita Software Services.

    Using a highly secure link you can pay for the following services online at any time, please make sure you have the relevant reference number:

    • Non-domestic rates (NDR) - NDR reference number which you can find on your bill (an eight digit number starting with a 5).
    • Council tax - council tax reference number which you can find on your bill (an eight digit number starting with a 6).
    • Housing benefit overpayments - reference number which you can find on your invoice (an eight digit number starting with a 7).
    • Parking fine - Penalty Charge Number (PCN) reference number
    • Property debtors invoices - customer reference and invoice number
    • Sundry debtors invoices - customer reference and invoice number
    • Invoice (miscellaneous debtors) including allotments - please refer to the payment help text on the input screen for the correct use of account references

    Please have your reference number (which you’ll find on your bill) and credit or debit card ready when calling. You'll need a pen and paper ready to note down your payment reference number at the end of the call.

    You can send us a cheque or postal order made payable to Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council for the following please ensure that you quote your account reference number for the relevant service. If you require a receipt please enclose a stamped addressed envelope.
