Supplementary Planning Documents (SPDs)
The borough council has a number of Supplementary Planning Documents (SPDs). This includes the following:
- Affordable Housing
- Design and Sustainability
- East of Basingstoke and Redlands Development Brief
- Farm Diversification and Traditional Farmsteads
- Landscape and Biodiversity
- Manydown Development Brief
- Mulfords Hill, Tadley Development Brief
- Residential Parking Standards
- South View Conservation Area
The SPDs have been adopted by the borough council and are material considerations in the determination of planning applications.
The SPDs were primarily prepared to provide additional guidance to policies in the 1996-2011 Local Plan. In light of a new Local Plan (2011-2029) being adopted in May 2016 a programme of review is underway. More details of this can be found on the Local Development Scheme (LDS) webpage.
The Council has more recently adopted the Manydown Development Brief Supplementary Planning Document (in December 2016). This document was prepared to guide future development on Manydown, as allocated through Policy SS3.10 of the Local Plan (2011-2029).
Planning Policy Guidance
In addition to the SPDs, the borough council also has a range of Planning Policy Guidance which cover topics such as Action Plans, Adopted Development Briefs, Historic Environment Guidance, Landscape and Rural Guidance, Marketing Guidance Notes, Parking Standards, Planning Policy Guidance and Village Design Statements.
